Leakage from the ceiling in the living room

"It leaks from the ceiling in the living room"

It was the Christmas holidays at the home of a family from Pori. The family was enjoying a normal and pleasant Christmas vacation and waiting for the New Year to come! The father was out jogging, the mother was cooking dinner in the kitchen and the children were playing with their new toys they had received for Christmas. After a while, one of the children said to the mother that the toilet was overflowing. The mother took a break from cooking and went up to check. The toilet was not flushing and water was coming out of the toilet.

After a while, the father of the family also came home and tried to get the blockage unblocked using home remedies. After trying clog removers, drain cleaners and a lot of sweat, the father had to give up. That clog doesn't seem to clear up with home remedies. One of the kids yelled "It's leaking from the ceiling in the living room!" Now it was time for a little panic.

They called the first number they found on the internet, the number was for 24 Center. The phone rang in 24 Center's office and the customer service representative listened to the problem. All the details of the job were recorded and the customer service promised a plumber with the right tools would be there quickly. It was already six o'clock in the evening, but they had a plumber on site within half an hour.

Plumbers on site within 30 minutes

The plumbers found that the drain had broken due to the blockage and had started to leak through the living room ceiling. To prevent the damage from getting worse, the sewer was emptied using a flushing truck that sucked up the wastewater. After that, the plumbers found that there was moisture in the structure. The plumbers told the customer to be in touch with their insurance company. The insurance company will cover the cost of the flushing truck. The plumbers also gave advice for the aftercare and repair of the damage done.

Cost

24 Center's invoice to the customer was:

  • Labor: 396,00 e (approx. 4100 kr)

  • Day fee: 267,00 e (approx. 2800 kr)

  • Filming of drains: 271,25 e (approx. 2850 kr)

  • Emptying of sewage: 271.25 e (approx. 2850 kr)

  • Total: 1205,50 e (13 805,50 kr)

All good in the end

The customer was satisfied with 24 Centers' part of the work. In the feedback, the customer described the matter as follows: "The customer service was factual and understood that help is needed quickly. The plumbers did their best. We received good initial help for the situation and the plumbers prevented worse damage from happening. Draining the sewer prevented more sewage from leaking into the structure and into the downstairs living area. Their mission ended when all that could be done was done! They appreciated the situation and gave instructions to contact the insurance company. Thank you! The damage in the toilet with the sewage was disgusting and came as a surprise. Our quick reaction to the situation and the fact that we got help quickly, especially when you take into account the time of day (Saturday night) was good. Really nice that there is such a day service! We have received the first help needed for the damage. Really good service. Hope this on-call service continues to exist in the future."
